Joe Platt is a Brussels-based furniture designer and maker. He studied architecture at TU Delft and spent several years designing and developing products in the 3D printing and digital fabrication industry, before the pull of making things by hand took over.

That led him to furniture design at VOMO Mechelen and to founding studio PLATT, a studio where the material comes first. Recycled, reclaimed, sustainably sourced. Materials, rich with texture, history and imperfection, should be able to tell their own story. The work doesn’t hide where things come from; it makes that the point.

studio PLATT works on limited-run pieces and bespoke commissions. Collaboration with interior designers, architects, and brands is always welcome.
